Welcome to our first edition of the Insight Quarterly in 2022. It’s packed with stories across multiple industry segments, featuring customer case studies, product innovations, and the latest market trends and insights.
First of all, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you, for your partnership, trust, outstanding loyalty and patience throughout a very dynamic year 2021. Thanks to you, our valued customers and business partners, it has been a successful year for Avery Dennison, marking the company’s tenth consecutive year of strong growth. Our strong performance comes at a challenging time as the global health crisis lingers, supply chains continue to be constrained, raw material shortages remain and significant inflationary pressures persist.
Unfortunately, this year has started with another global crisis that impacts global trade and daily life — the war in Ukraine. Avery Dennison condemns the violence in the region and is taking several actions to support the people of Ukraine. Our priority since the beginning of the crisis, has been to care for our people across the region who are directly impacted and provide humanitarian support. We are monitoring the situation closely and will adjust actions accordingly.
Despite these challenges we also see that customer demand remains strong. We are therefore investing significantly in people and capacity to ensure that we can continue to meet your needs, while also preparing for the future. One example is our new manufacturing site in Brazil that will become fully operational early Q2 2022. Another example is our acquisition of TexTrace AG, an innovator in integrated RFID products. The innovative woven and knitted RFID products that TexTrace has developed, will add significant value to the traditional way the apparel and retail sector uses RFID, creating the opportunities for a more sustainable and intelligent future where digital ID’s can live with the lifecycle of the garment.
We are currently not anticipating any significant disruption to our operations but continue to focus on building resilience and agility in our supply chain globally, ensuring that we have inventory available to deliver on our commitments to our customers. As we come together in times of crisis to ensure stability, protect each other, serve our customers and support our communities, we continue to hope for an end to the hostilities.
As always, if you have any feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here.
Sincerely,
